What material produces the best rosin yield?
Premium flower with high trichome density typically yields 18-25% rosin. Dry sift and hash can yield 40-70%, but starting material quality is crucial. Fresh, properly cured material (55-62% RH) always performs better than old or dry material.
How much pressure do I need for optimal extraction?
More pressure isn't always better. For flower, we recommend starting at 800-1500 PSI at the bag. Hash and sift need less pressure (400-800 PSI). Too much pressure can rupture cell walls and contaminate your rosin with plant material.
What's the ideal humidity for pressing?
Material should be between 55-62% relative humidity. Too dry and your yield suffers; too wet and you risk water content in your final product. Use humidity packs to rehydrate material if needed before pressing.
How do I clean and maintain my press?
Clean platens after each session with isopropyl alcohol while warm. Check hydraulic fluid levels monthly. Keep the frame clean and dry. We recommend a deep clean and inspection every 6 months for commercial units.
