Ultra Low Temperature control is essential for cannabis extraction. It is important that the cold solvent dissolves just the valuable glandular trichromes – cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.
Extracting at temperatures any warmer than -40⁰F (-40˚C) results in dissolving undesirable compounds including lipids (fats and waxes) and chlorophyll. If these are dissolved during extraction, they need to be removed via further expensive processing down the line.
